I don't think of cleats as "go speedy" gear....I imagine them as basic safety gear. I have viewed various people today fall and drop guns or slip and drop sporting hiking sneakers when it would not occur if they ended up sporting cleats. the one time I'v viewed them become a downside was on stairs, platforms etc that don't have carpet on them.
